There is something undeniably alluring about a secret garden, and the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, tucked away in El Chorro Regional Park, certainly holds its share of treasures and revelations about the environment on the Central Coast of California.

Built to display the diverse native plants and flowers of the Mediterranean climate zones of the world and to provide opportunities for education, recreation, conservation and research, the SLO Botanical Garden offers a calendar and online tour of blooming seasonal plants in the free admission Preview Garden, a concert series, docent-led nature tours, kids’ activities, a garden shop and educational gardening classes for visitors to San Luis Obispo to enjoy.

Location:

The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is located at 3450 Dairy Creek Road on Highway 1 in El Chorro Regional Park, between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.

Admission:

Admission is free. Parking at El Chorro Regional Park is $2 during the summer months.

Hours:

The Preview Garden is open daily during daylight hours. The business office and gift shop are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
